This Week in Witnessing

Memorial Day- I gave out 9 tracts out before work this am!! I had a divine appointment after work! I stopped at McDonald's to see a man that I have been witnnessing to. I gave a tract to a woman that walked in and then out! She didn't order anything! I went fishing on the river with family and friends. Also,I gave 5 trillions away at the park. One woman asked me to read it to them! I did! Then, I asked them where would they go if they died tonight. The one woman that asked me to read the tract said that that was a good question.
Tuesday- I went to a gas station that I usually don't go to. I gave the owner a trillion. I waited for a man to come out that was paying for gas. His name is Terrance. I took him through three commandments and challenged him to read the bible tonight. I gave million dollar pesos to Daniel and Mario after they cut the grass at a bank.Pray for Kindra who works at the drive-thru at Captain D's. She said that she didn't know where she was going when she dies. At Walmart I gave tracts to Isaiah, Oseal, Scott, Mindy Harold, Jason, and Erica. I also gave a tract to a man that had bought cigarettes at the gas pumps. At the Chevron, after prayer meeting, James told me that Jeremy needed a mancard. James gets me to give the new guy a mancard everytime!
Wednesday At lunch, I walked to the Now Save convenience store to pass out a few tracts. I gave 6 to some men that were in a van. I talked with Nick and Damon. I gave one to Chris and two other men at the Golden Pier Seafood restaurant. We ate at Chile Verde after work. I gave million dollar pesos to Olivia, Miguel, and another Spanish man. I left a trillion dollar bill for our waiter and gave one to the man that took customers to their seats. As we were leaving I gave a trillion to a man that was on the restaurant porch. He admitted that he was far from God. I gave out my last trillion to "T", a woman that works at the Dollar General.
Thursday - Before work this morning, I went to the NowSave near the I-20 in Monroe. I gave a Mancard to "Chief" as he was leaving the store. The woman serving breakfast got a "The Biggest Gamble". I gave two away while in line; one to Russell who said that he messed up a lot.
At lunch, I made my round in Super One. Quinton was sampling meat at the front. I asked him where would he go if he died today. Being sarcastic, he said purgatory. He told me that he was Church of Christ. I traded Joshua a tract for a sample of cheese! He told me that he was saved. Andrew, who was working with the fruit, was a Christian, too. He said that he wants to be a pastor. Another man said that he had been saved for three years. I slipped a few tracts into some cases of beer. Sleighton said that he was saved when I gave him a tract while leaving the store. After work, I stopped at the Walmart in West Monroe. I gave tracts to Laquita, Walter, and Alfredo. I offered a tract to one man who gave it back to me when he told me that he was catholic
Friday- I hit the NowSave again before work. I gave tracts to Jerry (who I saw there yesterday),
Neil, Anthony, and Darryl. I also gave tracts to two women who where eating inside. I only gave one tract out at lunch at the bank. As I was leaving, I asked a man if he was going to Heaven or hell. He said that he didn't know as I gave him a tract. While getting a Walmart gas card after work, I gave David a tract.
Do you see the need for evangelizing the lost? I have been stirred!!! Press on, soul-winners! Let's win souls!
Saturday - I had to work for a few hours in the morning, so I passes out 4 tracts at McDonald's. At Circle K, NIta told me that she hoped to go to Heaven when I asked her the question. I challenged her to make sure before she went to bed that night. After studying for Sunday School and Nursing Home service, I went to the Waffle House. I sat down by a young man when as I picked up the menu. He asked if I wanted to support him by buying one of his cds. I told him that I listened only to gospel music when he said that it was hip-hop. I asked him where he was going to spend eternity. He said that he was probably going to Heaven. Before I could mention the law, he was trying to justify himself.
Please pray that Michael's eyes will be opened! There are more souls to be witnessed to!

Witnessing Update

This has been a great and encouraging week. The Lord has challenged me to do more! The harvest is ripe! I've been challenged by listening to Mark Cahill. Bro J.T. asked if I had read "One Thing You Can't Do In Heaven" written by Mark Cahill. I found the PDF version, but I am going to get the book.
Please check out this video on YouTube :

Mark Cahill - One Thing You Can't Do In Heaven (FULL) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VA2b_s6yaI&sns=tw via @youtube

Last Monday, I gave a New Testament to a Hindu man that owns a convenience store down from where I work. I have been wanting to do this since a few days before. There was a can of beer on the counter near my purchase. He jokingly asked "This, too?" I said that I didn't drink and that I was a born-again Christian. I didn't have time to talk, so I made it a point to go back with the New Testament. I also gave him the trillion dollar bill and his employee got one, too. I have handed these to two other Hindu people at two other stores this week. At one store a man looked at the trillion with interest until I told him that it was a Gospel tract.
On Friday, I made it a point to go in Taco Bell to pick up lunch. While there, I spoke to a Spanish man that was with his family. I gave them million dollar pesos and trillion dollar bills. After seeing me give the trillions, four women asked me for them! One asked if she could have one for her husband. She said that she was trying to get him to go to church. I went to Super One after work. I gave out several tracts there. James told me that he knew that he would go to hell if he died within ten minutes. I asked him to think about what we talked about before he retired that night. I asked another man where he would go when he died. He said "In limbo." He almost gave the tract back, but he kept it when I gave one to his girlfriend.
On Saturday, we went to the Morehouse Challenge thrift store in Bastrop. I talked with Wesley who was from Oak Grove. He told me that he had preacher friends who had talked to him before. He told me that he didn't want to give up some things. He liked smoking marijuana. He appreciated me talking to him. I may never see him again here, but I hope to see him in Heaven! I was studying for my message on Saturday night for Sunday night when I had an urge to go to the Chevron before they closed at 11. I gave out 4 trillion dollar bills on the way in and while checking out. On the way out, two men that looked like rockers were coming in. As I gave them the tracts, they were on the phone with their boss. As one gave the phone to the other, he called him J.D. I remembered talking to J.D. last July in front of the Tsunami. He was still on the phone, so I didn't talk to him anymore. He probably remembers! Thank the Lord for divine appointments! Remember: somebody near you needs Jesus!

Friday Night Evangelism

We had great time Friday night as we we went to evangelize at the Tsunami and the Hookin' Bull. We were joined by Bro. J.T. and Bro. Garan from the Holly Ridge area. I met Bro. J.T. at the Family Christian Bookstore one night when I was talking to his friend, Bro. James, who works there. He said that he put Chick Tracts in beer cases at stores. I told him about what we did in street ministry and witnessing. He contacted me Sunday about wanting to go with us. We have been praying that there were other brothers out there who were doing street ministry. Bro. J.T. And Bro. Garan met with Bro. Day, Bro. J.J. and I last night to proclaim the Gospel! Bro. Gary, Bro. Garan's father joined us later at the bars. They were a blessing to the ministry!
At first, we stopped at a convenience store to get a drink. I think we all gave out and put out at least one tract! Then, we arrived at the bars. The first one we talked to was a woman that went to church, but was ok with drinking and going to the bar. Josh came over about the same time she did. We talked with him for a long time.
He said that he watched Christian videos all the time on YouTube. He said that he was addicted to prescription drugs. As Bro. J.T. was giving him a "This Was Your Life" tract, he said that he had got the same tract from inside the bar! (He showed it to us.) Somehow, this tract had got in the bar before we got there! We prayed for him, for God to deliver and save him. This was definitely a divine appointment!
We had a few conversations with some. We gave out several tracts. Bro. J.T. brought the trillion dollar bill tract.
Donnie, the bar manager, came out with young men that had cameras and video recorders. He wanted to talk to us about why we thought gay people were sinners. He always brings this issue up. After he left, his friends took tracts from us.We talked to two men that cleaned the bar. After talking to Samuel for a little, I found out that I had led his niece to the Lord back around 1996 when I worked at Sam's. I had gave her a Chick tract when I was leaving to place tracts out where a casino picked up patrons to go to Vicksburg. She came out to where I was, crying, and we prayed right there! Another man came out and asked if we did any gardening. He didn't want to hear what we had to say. He had been drinking a little.
One man slipped a "This Was Your Life" tract into his back pocket as he went into the Hookin' Bull. Prayerfully, he read it when he sobered up!
Please pray for us as we continue to reach out to the lost. We were really encouraged from last night's efforts! There is joy in obeying God!

UPDATE ON JOSH: 5/20/12 pm Josh came to church tonight! We were thrilled when he walked in! He came down to the altar after Bro. Tracy preached on "Things That God Breaks" out of Psalms 107. He is the first one to come to the church from our bar ministry. He told me that he felt something lift off him tonight! Please pray with us that God continues to work in his life and that he gets everything he needs! This is so encouraging! Let's keep on reaching out for souls!

This Week In Witnessing

I pray that the fire of evangelism
Is burning bright in your life! I am looking for opportunities more than ever. On Tuesday morning, I went out with the cross on my favorite street corner for about 20 minutes. One woman honked her horn several times as she drove by.
I have had good conversations with a few men at Walmart. I am trying to talk to more people as I am out and about . On Thursday evening, I spoke with Raymond after giving him The Biggest Gamble tract. He said that he went to church, but wasn't saved. I challenged him to stop delaying and turn to Jesus. I also gave him a Get Out Of Hell Free Card. Please pray for Raymond.
On the way to work on Saturday morning, I went though the drive-thru at McDonald's. I asked both employees at the windows " For a free Gospel tract, are you going to Heaven or hell?" The second woman said that she was going to heaven.
After work, I went to get a few things at Walmart. I gave tracts to a few workers as I went through the store. One named Kenneth admitted that he was far from God. One asked where the tract came from. (When I give a tract to some, they will turn the tract over to see where the tract is from. I explain that I am not a Mormon or Jehovah Witness.) I talked with Steve and Roy at the checkout. Steve seemed to have a church background. He said that God had a blessing for him. Roy was probably about 55. After I gave him The Biggest Gamble tract, he said that he was on of the biggest gamblers with
his soul.
Thanks for stopping in to read this post. Have a great soul-winning week!

Professor Grant Horner's Bible Reading System Completed!

I finished last night by reading the rest of Esther, Zechariah, and the book of Malachi. The start date was 8/22/2011. This is the first time that I have read the Bible all the way through! I recommend this system to anyone. I read Acts and Proverbs six times during the 250 days. There were some days I read more than 10 chapters. I read 20 and 30 on other days. This made up for days that I missed. I will continue to follow this awesome plan with the Bible Bookmarks app.
Here is a link if you want to check it out: http://www.wbfva.org/files/professor_grant_horners_bible_reading_system.pdf
Happy Bible reading!!!

More Tracting Ideas

I modified the tract holder to accommodate The Biggest Gamble? Tract. I have it in the laundry mat, also. Most tracts are taken. A few get destroyed by unwatched children! There are endless ideas for Gospel tracting! Tonight, I put tracts out on benches at a convenience store where I get water from a a dispenser. There will be some men sitting there in the morning. Hopefully, they will be discussing the Gospel! I also left one in the machine where the change comes out. Anywhere that people have to get change from purchasing anything is a good place for a tract if the tract fits without bending or wrinkling it. You always want the tract to be in excellent condition when it is picked up. The same is true when you are giving a tract to someone.
When I am in line at a convenience store and there are newspapers or other types of advertising material, I will slip a tract in a few of them while I am waiting. One time, I was putting tracts in free magazines that were in a stand outside of a nearby store. My Pastor caught me red handed! I was guilty of trying to get a Gospel tract into the hand of someone that might get saved!
I also like putting tracts on the counter when I am buying something. If possible, I'll give a tract to the person behind me.
The lottery ticket stands are always screaming "Tract me! Tract me!" How can a soul-winner resist that cry! The Biggest Gamble? tract is perfect for these stands!
Where do you leave tracts? Do you have a unique idea that you would like to share? Would you like to give out more tracts? You can do it! So many are without Jesus! So many are being driven by the sin that controls them! I saw a woman at a store today, buying beer and scratch-off lottery tickets. She put the beer in her bag before leaving the store. She was under a heavy load. I could see the burden of sin on her face. As I was leaving, she was on foot. I stopped to hand her a tract. She took it. I pray that she will give her burdens to the One who bore our burdens! What are you waiting for? Somebody is waiting for you!

Soul-Winning In North Louisiana Turns One!

It has been one year since Soul-Winning In North Louisiana began. We were wanting to start a website that would encourage other Christians in evangelism and inform about what we did in street ministry. I had heard about blogging, but had never been to a blog on the internet. Last April, Bro Davy Boggs and his family were in revival at our church. He told me about their blog, Mile Markers-Boggs Blogs. He gave me the instructions to start blogging with blogspot.com. The rest is a year of history! It has been an exciting one! I've been greatly encouraged by other blogs. Steve Sanchez introduced me to the Bezuegen Tract Club through his blog, Stone The Preacher. From there, I came in contact with Carl Kalbfleisch, who works with Bezeugen Ministries. He invited me to post on the As You Go blog where we encourage believers to distribute tracts as they go about every day life. Paul Latour, out of Ottawa, Canada, has a great evangelism blog called The Word Street Journal. His post has gave me encouragement and inspiration. I built a street cross after seeing a few of his YouTube videos. I also found His Feet On The Street, where Wayne Albrecht gives his influence on soul-winning. Tony Miano, from On The Box, got me interested in Professor Grant Horner's Bible Reading System when he talked about it on August the 22nd. I have just 13 more days to finish reading the Bible all the way through for the first time in the 19 years that I have been a Christian!
I have heard from several that have viewed the blog. One person from Russia has been in contact with me via email. I am thankful for every comment and everyone that has been to Soul-Winning in North Louisiana. I pray that we have encouraged many through these post on street preaching, witnessing, and Gospel tracting. I pray that we will continue to do so until our blessed Savior returns for His Bride! Happy Soul-winning!

Tract Ideas

Here is a couple ideas for Gospel tract distribution. I make it a point to keep tracts on me at all times when I'm out and about. This cell phone is perfect for holding the business card size tracts from the Bezuegen tract club and onemilliontracts.com. I keep mine on my belt beside my phone. The case holds about 40-45 tracts. I always keep a variety in mine. Sometimes I keep a few in my hand while I'm in a store.

I wanted to make a tract holder for the Are You A Good Person tract. I'm hoping that this one will get some attention. I took an old sign and covered it with a sheet with the front of this tract. I taped a piece of cardboard that I customized to hold the tracts. It was real easy to make. I placed this in the laundry mat beside the Are You Ready holder that I made several months ago.

I plan on making a few more like this.
I also have one at another laundry mat that I help out with in Monroe. I am praying for lives to be touched through Gospel tracts. I found this from MWTB.org:

Soul-winning Sole

A shoemaker received a tract from a customer one day, and did not care to read it so he used it as part of the lining of a shoe he was making. The shoe with the hidden message was purchased, and used for a long time until it was well-worn and in need of repair.

It was taken to another shoemaker, who removed the worn-out sole and discovered the hidden messenger. He was immediately struck by the title, and read the whole message. It was the Word of God delivered to him in a most unusual way, and it awakened him to a sense of his sin and need of salvation. He turned his eyes in faith to Christ, and found salvation for his soul.

So go on with your work, tract distributor—"in the morning sow thy Seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good" (Ecclesiastes 11:6).

Happy Easter! / He Wouldn't Stay Dead!

He is alive! He is risen indeed! Because he lives, we lives! What a Savior! I pray that you have a great day as we think His Resurrection!
This is a poem that I am reposting from Bro. Davy Bogg's blog, The Mile Markers-Boggs Blogs. The blog is listed under our Soul-Winning Friends. He preaches and sings across the country along with his wife,Sis. Kelly and daughter, Sis. Odie. This family is an inspiration to all that hear them. This poem was written a Baptist minister named Willard G. Thomas from Georgia. Be blessed by it!

He Wouldn't Stay Dead

by:Willard G. Thomas

They laid His body in Joseph's new tomb
And filled His disciples with sorrow and gloom
They did not remember what He had said
That He would die, but He wouldn't stay dead

Mary came at the break of day
And found the stone was rolled away
She saw an angel and in terror fled
And told His disciples that He didn't stay dead

In that cold dark tomb He would not stay
He conquered death and walked away
And now that old grave has lost it's fear and dread
He lives again! He wouldn't stay dead

Full atonement and pardon were made
And forever the sin debt was marked fully paid
The price was His blood as it flowed crimson red
And I'm thankful today that He didn't stay dead!

Let's go to our churches and cry aloud
Let's go to the marketplace and talk to the crowd
Let's go to the mission fields that lie up ahead
And tell the whole world that He didn't stay dead!

Because if Jesus Christ had only died
Then the gulf between us and God would still be wide
But thank God He did what He said
He got up out of the ground, He couldn't stay dead!

A Reflection On The Resurrection

Mark 16:3-6

And they said among themselves,
Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side,
clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

And he saith unto them,
Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified:
he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

Mark 16:14-20

Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat,
and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart,
because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

And he said unto them,
Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

And these signs shall follow them that believe;
In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;
they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them,
he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

And they went forth, and preached every where,
the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Our faith hinges on the Resurrection of our Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:17 says : And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

He has been raised! He is alive! We are not in our sins! Our sins are under the blood of Christ! He is alive! He is among us through the Holy Ghost! Because He lives, we live! We have hope as Christians!

Since His Resurrection, many people have been affected by this Risen Savior. He appeared to those who expected His body to be in the tomb. He appeared to the eleven diciples while they were eating. Many proclaimed that He was alive. Many have been touched by Him! Many have been affected by the Resurrected! When we were dead in our sins, He died for us. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 KJV) When we weren't looking for Him, He was looking for us! When we ran from Him, He ran after us. When we despised Him, He loved us! O, what a Savior!

Here we are in 2012. Many still proclaim that He is alive. As soul-winners, we can use Easter as a springboard to herald His Resurrection! Many serve a dead god. Many don't believe in God. Many don't believe any thing. Many are running from God. We have the Message! We have what they need! We have the only hope! We have been resurrected ourselves from the death grip of sin by our resurrected Lord! We must reach the perishing in this crucial hour! We must keep the Gospel fire burning for those who are in a cold world! We have been resurrected for a reason! We are alive to proclaim the Resurrection to those who are dead in their sins! As we reflect on the resurrection this Easter, let's not forget to tell others that He is alive!
