Professor Grant Horner's Bible Reading System Completed!

I finished last night by reading the rest of Esther, Zechariah, and the book of Malachi. The start date was 8/22/2011. This is the first time that I have read the Bible all the way through! I recommend this system to anyone. I read Acts and Proverbs six times during the 250 days. There were some days I read more than 10 chapters. I read 20 and 30 on other days. This made up for days that I missed. I will continue to follow this awesome plan with the Bible Bookmarks app.

More Tracting Ideas

I modified the tract holder to accommodate The Biggest Gamble? Tract. I have it in the laundry mat, also. Most tracts are taken. A few get destroyed by unwatched children! There are endless ideas for Gospel tracting! Tonight, I put tracts out on benches at a convenience store where I get water from a a dispenser. There will be some men sitting there in the morning. Hopefully, they will be discussing the Gospel! I also left one in the machine where the change comes out. Anywhere that people have to get change from purchasing anything is a good place for a tract if the tract fits without bending or wrinkling it. You always want the tract to be in excellent condition when it is picked up. The same is true when you are giving a tract to someone.
When I am in line at a convenience store and there are newspapers or other types of advertising material, I will slip a tract in a few of them while I am waiting. One time, I was putting tracts in free magazines that were in a stand outside of a nearby store. My Pastor caught me red handed! I was guilty of trying to get a Gospel tract into the hand of someone that might get saved!
I also like putting tracts on the counter when I am buying something. If possible, I'll give a tract to the person behind me.
The lottery ticket stands are always screaming "Tract me! Tract me!" How can a soul-winner resist that cry! The Biggest Gamble? tract is perfect for these stands!
Where do you leave tracts? Do you have a unique idea that you would like to share? Would you like to give out more tracts? You can do it! So many are without Jesus! So many are being driven by the sin that controls them! I saw a woman at a store today, buying beer and scratch-off lottery tickets. She put the beer in her bag before leaving the store. She was under a heavy load. I could see the burden of sin on her face. As I was leaving, she was on foot. I stopped to hand her a tract. She took it. I pray that she will give her burdens to the One who bore our burdens! What are you waiting for? Somebody is waiting for you!

Soul-Winning In North Louisiana Turns One!

It has been one year since Soul-Winning In North Louisiana began. We were wanting to start a website that would encourage other Christians in evangelism and inform about what we did in street ministry. I had heard about blogging, but had never been to a blog on the internet. Last April, Bro Davy Boggs and his family were in revival at our church. He told me about their blog, Mile Markers-Boggs Blogs. He gave me the instructions to start blogging with blogspot.com. The rest is a year of history! It has been an exciting one! I've been greatly encouraged by other blogs. Steve Sanchez introduced me to the Bezuegen Tract Club through his blog, Stone The Preacher. From there, I came in contact with Carl Kalbfleisch, who works with Bezeugen Ministries. He invited me to post on the As You Go blog where we encourage believers to distribute tracts as they go about every day life. Paul Latour, out of Ottawa, Canada, has a great evangelism blog called The Word Street Journal. His post has gave me encouragement and inspiration. I built a street cross after seeing a few of his YouTube videos. I also found His Feet On The Street, where Wayne Albrecht gives his influence on soul-winning. Tony Miano, from On The Box, got me interested in Professor Grant Horner's Bible Reading System when he talked about it on August the 22nd. I have just 13 more days to finish reading the Bible all the way through for the first time in the 19 years that I have been a Christian!
I have heard from several that have viewed the blog. One person from Russia has been in contact with me via email. I am thankful for every comment and everyone that has been to Soul-Winning in North Louisiana. I pray that we have encouraged many through these post on street preaching, witnessing, and Gospel tracting. I pray that we will continue to do so until our blessed Savior returns for His Bride! Happy Soul-winning!

Tract Ideas

Here is a couple ideas for Gospel tract distribution. I make it a point to keep tracts on me at all times when I'm out and about. This cell phone is perfect for holding the business card size tracts from the Bezuegen tract club and onemilliontracts.com. I keep mine on my belt beside my phone. The case holds about 40-45 tracts. I always keep a variety in mine. Sometimes I keep a few in my hand while I'm in a store.

I wanted to make a tract holder for the Are You A Good Person tract. I'm hoping that this one will get some attention. I took an old sign and covered it with a sheet with the front of this tract. I taped a piece of cardboard that I customized to hold the tracts. It was real easy to make. I placed this in the laundry mat beside the Are You Ready holder that I made several months ago.

I plan on making a few more like this.
I also have one at another laundry mat that I help out with in Monroe. I am praying for lives to be touched through Gospel tracts. I found this from MWTB.org:

Soul-winning Sole

A shoemaker received a tract from a customer one day, and did not care to read it so he used it as part of the lining of a shoe he was making. The shoe with the hidden message was purchased, and used for a long time until it was well-worn and in need of repair.

It was taken to another shoemaker, who removed the worn-out sole and discovered the hidden messenger. He was immediately struck by the title, and read the whole message. It was the Word of God delivered to him in a most unusual way, and it awakened him to a sense of his sin and need of salvation. He turned his eyes in faith to Christ, and found salvation for his soul.

So go on with your work, tract distributor—"in the morning sow thy Seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good" (Ecclesiastes 11:6).

Happy Easter! / He Wouldn't Stay Dead!

He is alive! He is risen indeed! Because he lives, we lives! What a Savior! I pray that you have a great day as we think His Resurrection!
This is a poem that I am reposting from Bro. Davy Bogg's blog, The Mile Markers-Boggs Blogs. The blog is listed under our Soul-Winning Friends. He preaches and sings across the country along with his wife,Sis. Kelly and daughter, Sis. Odie. This family is an inspiration to all that hear them. This poem was written a Baptist minister named Willard G. Thomas from Georgia. Be blessed by it!

He Wouldn't Stay Dead

by:Willard G. Thomas

They laid His body in Joseph's new tomb
And filled His disciples with sorrow and gloom
They did not remember what He had said
That He would die, but He wouldn't stay dead

Mary came at the break of day
And found the stone was rolled away
She saw an angel and in terror fled
And told His disciples that He didn't stay dead

In that cold dark tomb He would not stay
He conquered death and walked away
And now that old grave has lost it's fear and dread
He lives again! He wouldn't stay dead

Full atonement and pardon were made
And forever the sin debt was marked fully paid
The price was His blood as it flowed crimson red
And I'm thankful today that He didn't stay dead!

Let's go to our churches and cry aloud
Let's go to the marketplace and talk to the crowd
Let's go to the mission fields that lie up ahead
And tell the whole world that He didn't stay dead!

Because if Jesus Christ had only died
Then the gulf between us and God would still be wide
But thank God He did what He said
He got up out of the ground, He couldn't stay dead!

A Reflection On The Resurrection

Mark 16:3-6

And they said among themselves,
Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side,
clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

And he saith unto them,
Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified:
he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

Mark 16:14-20

Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat,
and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart,
because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

And he said unto them,
Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

And these signs shall follow them that believe;
In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;
they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them,
he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

And they went forth, and preached every where,
the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Our faith hinges on the Resurrection of our Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:17 says : And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

He has been raised! He is alive! We are not in our sins! Our sins are under the blood of Christ! He is alive! He is among us through the Holy Ghost! Because He lives, we live! We have hope as Christians!

Since His Resurrection, many people have been affected by this Risen Savior. He appeared to those who expected His body to be in the tomb. He appeared to the eleven diciples while they were eating. Many proclaimed that He was alive. Many have been touched by Him! Many have been affected by the Resurrected! When we were dead in our sins, He died for us. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 KJV) When we weren't looking for Him, He was looking for us! When we ran from Him, He ran after us. When we despised Him, He loved us! O, what a Savior!

Here we are in 2012. Many still proclaim that He is alive. As soul-winners, we can use Easter as a springboard to herald His Resurrection! Many serve a dead god. Many don't believe in God. Many don't believe any thing. Many are running from God. We have the Message! We have what they need! We have the only hope! We have been resurrected ourselves from the death grip of sin by our resurrected Lord! We must reach the perishing in this crucial hour! We must keep the Gospel fire burning for those who are in a cold world! We have been resurrected for a reason! We are alive to proclaim the Resurrection to those who are dead in their sins! As we reflect on the resurrection this Easter, let's not forget to tell others that He is alive!
